TEETH
TEETH is a show that I co-created / co-directed with Lachlan Ives for The Blue Room’s 2025 Season of TILT. TEETH is a dystopian chamber work about the futility of love and free will through the framing of religious fundamentalism.
as co-director, my role was to create the conditions for making and listening. i encourage PLAY with open-ended games and provocations connected to the work's themes, allowing material to emerge and deepen through improvisation, repetition, cutting, and abstraction. under dramaturgical mentorship from director, playwright, and Last Great Hunt core artist Jeffrey J. Fowler, we became increasingly attuned to TEETH’s ‘chiaroscuro’ and vital pulses that pushed the heart of the work forward; following moments that felt charged, allowing the rhythm and tone to make the audience feel as if something better is possible, but we’re not quite there yet…
our show sought to explore and interrogate how organised groups can formulate a collective identity built upon information and values that lack nuance, critical thinking and truth; contemporary audiences are currently navigating a media landscape, populated with conspiracy theories and echo-chamber noise, with social media and charismatic leaders increasingly magnifying and propagating misinformation that seeks to disempower and violate our humanity.
the success of TEETH came from the team’s openness to play, take creative risks and truly believe in the work - the process and rules followed suit.

my solo work 'masterbatim' sees a woman insert a bullet-sized vibrator into her underwear; she offers the audience the remote, inviting them to control her pleasure whilst she performs verbatim sex stories. each time the remote is pressed, the script is altered, ‘the pleasure’ shifts, and the performance is changed.
masterbatim is a collection of verbatim stories from AFAB women across australia who felt pressured to perform arousal without experiencing genuine pleasure. i wanted to address and alter in real-time the misrepresented ideologies surrounding sex, the ‘sexual script’ by contrasting devastating stories with a sexual performance; the experience was entirely dependent on how the audience wanted the re-enactments to be delivered. when the vibrations changed so did the performance; i would decide in real time the mode of delivery based on how the audience was using the remote/the mode of the vibrator; highly expressive, neutral, or deviate from the ‘script’ altogether.
'masterbatim' seeks to spark pertinent conversations concerning consent, sex education, and pleasure by challenging the ‘sexual script’ and gendered norms in sex.

WE ARE BREAKING TRADITION
“We are breaking tradition, not the planet. We are calling brands in, not calling them out. We are searching for balance. We are fashioning a zero-waste world. We want things to matter, We want things to last. This blue expanse seems eternal, but the blue expanse needs our recklessness to be restrained. Our advocacy needs action.
Why is the present the first place we run from? The Hereafter Is Not Known - THINK for today, THINK for tomorrow.
Mouths wide enough to swallow the world; the hunger for mass consumption is not in our nature - it is far beyond our being. So meet us under the sky today, let us be human and let us be alive. When we leave, we leave everything behind.”
